Relax now

Writer: BelBel

Hello, lovely Soul Drop!

Today I’d like to share with you some tips for when we seem trapped within our busy minds. Most of us face a lot of stress in our daily life and we already know what that does to us, the real question is “How do I feel less stressed?”

The fact that you’re reading this right now means you already took a very important decision! You wish to change something. Nevertheless, it’s very important we’re clear about what we can change and what we can’t. Some things are out of our control so accepting that is the first step to let go of stress.

Next I’ll give you a short exercise to hook your mind back into the present. Ready? Let’s go!

Breathe in... breathe out...

Now, look around you, actually pay attention to what surrounds you. What can you hear? Is there any smell that you can recognize? Does your body feel tense? Where? What are you feeling?

Breathe in, whatever you’re feeling it’s perfectly okay, breathe out.

Feel your muscles relax, breathe in…breathe out again.

If you can, stretch a bit. If not, then just relax where you are.

Is your body more relaxed? If you feel like you need more relaxing then repeat the breathing in and out process.

Breathing anchors our mind to the present moment and allows us to pay attention to what our body is saying. Another few things we can do to stay focused on the present are:

1. Do 20 minutes of work out every day.

2. Add to your daily routine at least one activity that you truly enjoy.

3. Avoid procrastinating at all costs.

Working out can help you release tensions and if you do some outdoor activity connecting with nature and breathing fresh air will allow you to relax.

We should never be too busy to do something we truly enjoy; it might be only 30 minutes of reading or maybe watching our favorite show. Be organized and have priorities so you can have a space for yourself.

Finally, this correlates with the fact that procrastinating just makes us more anxious about what we have to do and we haven’t done yet. Tomorrow I’ll give some tips about this topic so stay tuned!

I hope this was helpful!

Thank you so much for reading.

With love, Bel.
